For a growing number of people, however, AI feels like something else entirely: a technology that will take your job, spy on you, automate your life, and force-feed you slop.

AI is increasingly perceived as a binary choice. Yes or no. Civilizational acceleration or data-center boycott. But this future is not inevitable. The yes/no AI binary is a forced choice that is produced by a narrow field of technology products in which AI predominantly appears as a productivity enhancer, surveillance mechanism, or slop machine.

“Luxury Technology” insists that a wider field of possibility exists: that the same fundamental unlocks can be developed into products that expand the surface area of human experience, widen the ways people interact, and pluralize what AI and other emerging technologies make possible across perception, pleasure, communication, ritual, and creativity.

Restless Egg and the New Creative Founder

Restless Egg invites applications for the next batch of creative founders. This founder represents an emerging class of creator defining a new generation of technology products that go beyond productivity enhancement, particularly as models, tooling, and intelligence commoditize and the frontier shifts to taste and experience.

These founders are experimental, culturally attuned, and skilled at turning unique perspectives across varied interests into specific and compelling product forms.

Restless Egg invests in creative founders and runs a six-month, high touch accelerator program to help them build commercially successful and scalable companies.

What We're Looking For

“Luxury Technology” is not so much intended as a literal vertical, market segment, or aesthetic brief. It is an area of intervention in how AI investment and company formation are currently being imagined.

For Batch 2, Restless Egg is looking for founders who are building luxury technologies, meaning commercial products that use AI and other emerging technologies to unlock richer, stranger, more meaningful forms of human experience, not just more efficiency. Your interpretation of luxury technology may surprise us. That is part of the point.

We are interested in founders whose work began as an obsession, experiment, or frontier practice and now shows the potential to become a real company with clear users, real demand, and a path to financial sustainability. The ideal application combines technical or experiential originality with evidence that the product matters beyond the founder’s own taste, and that it can become a durable business rather than remain an artwork, service, or research project.

Accelerator Program

The program is a six-month accelerator built around weekly check-ins, monthly crits, and milestone-driven reviews that help founders translate unusual ideas into durable companies. It begins with a $100k initial investment and is designed to support rapid learning, sharper product and narrative development, and real investability through close engagement with Restless Egg and our network of subject matter experts, collaborators, operators, and investors. Founders also gain access to curated events and demo day designed to introduce their work to the right capital, cultural, and commercial audiences. Restless Egg makes up to an additional $175k follow-on investment when predefined performance metrics are met.

Built for Indie and Venture Outcomes

The economics of building technology companies have changed. Agentic coding tools have collapsed the cost of shipping software, and founders are reaching revenue faster, with less capital and fewer people, than the traditional venture model assumes. The result is a wider distribution of growth paths.

Some companies will raise venture capital and scale fast. Others will become profitable, durable independent businesses that may not need to raise as much capital. Both are good outcomes worth backing.

This matters particularly for creative founder companies. Your products may find passionate, distinct user bases who can sustain a healthy business without ever requiring venture scale. Others of you will open new categories and need to raise to capture them. We need to be able to support either path.

A standard SAFE only pays out if the company raises and ultimately exits. If you build a profitable business that never raises and exits, the SAFE becomes dead paper, and founder and investor incentives drift apart.

The Shared Earnings side letter fixes this. If you raise a priced round, the SAFE converts and the side letter terminates. Nothing about the venture path changes. If you build a profitable independent business instead, a small percentage of surplus profits pays to Restless Egg after founders are paid and expenses are covered. That means how you spend, hire, and reinvest in the business remain your call, not ours.

The part that matters most: you don't have to decide which kind of company you are right now. Shared Earnings preserves that optionality. You build, and the structure stays aligned with you either way.

What We Expect and How We Measure Success

We expect founders to use the program to build real companies with real commercial traction. Success means sharp product direction, strong user traction, and meaningful proof that the business can generate revenue, move toward profitability, and sustain itself over time. This is not incidental to the Restless Egg thesis: the only way we can prove creative founders deserve lasting access to serious capital is through commercial success.

After the Egg?

By the end of the program, the goal is for your company to be ready for the next stage: generating revenue, raising external capital on strong terms, or both.

Post-Egg success means the work has become strong enough to stand on its own. Not as a one-off project, not as a residency outcome, and not as something dependent on fragile institutional support, but as a durable company with its own momentum, market, and reason to exist.
